Happenings around Fort Collins
Live Music
There's plenty to do around Fort Collins while you're visiting. Check out the calendar for Avagandros Number on Mason StreetThere is also live jazz every night at a couple places in town, Jay's Bistro, and Ace Gillets, both of which are in Old Town.
The closest grocery store to campus is the Safeway on Mulberry and College. There is also a Whole Foods south on College a little farther from campus, about a 30 minute walk.
Bike Library
Fort Collins can feel a little spread out, and having a bike can be great. If guests aren't renting cars, there is a service downtown called the "Bike Library" that rents bikes on a daily basis.
For dining, here are two main neighborhoods: Campus West, and Old Town.
Old Town offers a wide variety of more upscale options than Campus West. Campus West is closer, literally just west of campus and the dorm, and has several restaurants. There are also a bunch of restaurants at the north east corner of campus, at College and Laurel.
There are a couple CSU music staff favorites, mostly because they are close to the music building! Mainly, they are the Wild Boar for coffee and lunch, and Cafe Vino for dinner and drinks.
Yes, brewery tours! That is a huge draw for the area. The two biggest breweries in town are New Belgium and Odell,  both of which do tours daily. The New Belgium tour books up months in advance, though you can still go there, have a great time, and sometimes spots on the tours open up. The Odell tour is first come first serve, with four tours in the afternoon. Other breweries downtown are Equinox, Black Bottle, CP & Potts, Pateros Creek, and a new distillery called Copper Muse.
Another beer draw is a restaurant called "The Mayer of Old Town." It has over 100 beers on tap, and has been reviewed as one of the top beer bars in the country. It's also right next to campus.
Other Activities
Two more fun things around town are the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery, a new "children's museum," but it's fun for all ages, with lots of interactive exhibits. Also there's a place called "Pinot's Pallette" that does guided painting classes while serving wine.
Need more info?
The main office at the UCA has brochures about the University and the buildings themselves. On campus you'll find the Lory Student Center, the main hub for the university with a dining hall and an information desk.
