Promoting Dalcroze

More Dalcroze workshops! This is a perennial wish we all share--and one that the DSA membership has voiced time and again. “Promoting Dalcroze” is a web resource created by the DSA to respond to this wish. Specifically, it provides online support for members who want to host workshops and other events, whether they serve to introduce the Dalcroze practice to more people or to give experienced Dalcroze teachers more advanced work in the practice.

If you don’t have much experience organizing events like workshops, then you’re in the right place! We have designed this online tool with you in mind, in order to give you a user-friendly practical guide that covers all the key points and then some. In addition, we are available to provide consultation and answer questions, and to provide other kinds of support as well. With a few workshops under your belt, you will get the hang of it, and can help us train other newcomers!

The 2017-2018 year marks the 40th Anniversary of the incorporation of the DSA. During the “40 in 40” campaign, the DSA is challenging its membership to mark the occasion by increasing the membership of the DSA. The idea is to recruit forty new members to the DSA or to reconnect with lapsed members between September 15, 2017 - June 21, 2018. To empower chapters and members to host their own workshops and events, the DSA has provided the tools necessary to get your event off the ground.

The day we formally launch the campaign, we will host an event in Pittsburgh, PA, the site where the DSA got its start, that includes a retreat for Certified Dalcroze teachers to train them in presenting introductory workshops. In a sense, this online tool is the textbook for that retreat.

The DSA wants to help you to succeed. So for further assistance, email the DSA Administrator at admin@dalcrozeusa.org. With your help, the 2017-2018 year will be marked by excitement, growth, and discovery.
