In this workshop we will explore culturally responsive teaching, its many derivatives, and its integration in music and dance education. We will illuminate how culturally responsive teaching and the Dalcroze method intersect or are at tension. With consideration for the future, we will conclude with a discussion on possible ways Dalcroze teachers can adopt a culturally responsive mindset to increase accessibility and relevance for all learners.
