The 2026 conference theme is “Becoming Music, Embodying Change,” which celebrates the power of intention, creativity, and dynamic learning in Dalcroze Education. When guided by clear purpose, teaching, movement, and music can be deeply meaningful. This theme emphasizes how, by becoming rhythm, melody, and harmony, we not only deepen our own expression but also enrich our communities. Through the Dalcroze practice, music and movement create spaces that facilitate belonging and inspire change.

Keynote Speaker

Françoise Lombard

We are thrilled to welcome Françoise Lombard as our Keynote Speaker for the 2026 Dalcroze Society of America National Conference.

Françoise Lombard, Diplôme Supérieur, grew up with la Méthode Jaques-Dalcroze in Switzerland and graduated from the Conservatoire de Genève in piano and harmony. She has trained teachers across Europe and North America since 1976. Currently, Françoise lives in Montréal and teaches on faculty for Dalcroze Canada.

One of her many unique approaches to Dalcroze Education incorporates Osteophonie, which aims to improve awareness of bodily vibrations created by the human voice thereby refining one’s listening abilities. She also has created the “Music and Movement Audio Library” a catalog of recordings featuring her own musical improvisations as a pedagogical resource for Dalcrozians, improvisors, and educators.
