Polyrhythmic Frontiers

Brian Sweigart is the Head of Eurhythmics at the Cleveland Institute of Music where he has been on the faculty since 2008. During that time he also served four years as the Senior Associate Dean. He received his master’s degree in Percussion Performance from Youngstown State University and earned his bachelor’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music in Eurhythmics studying with David Brown and Percussion Performance studying with Richard Weiner and Paul Yancich. Brian graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy where he studied percussion with Amy Lynn Barber. Brian’s teaching has taken him across the country working with students of all ages. In addition to teaching eurhythmics, he works with music educators to incorporate concepts of rhythm and movement into their teaching.
