Executive Director’s Letter

Published Fall 2025 | Added November 4, 2025

It’s been an exciting few months of behind-the-scenes work for Dalcroze USA! With the publication of this special tenth volume of Dalcroze Connections, I’m thrilled to share some of the thoughtful planning and collaboration that have taken place over the past six months.

In early October, we launched a complete redesign of the Dalcroze USA website—a new online home for our community featuring events, resources, program listings, and more. This project represents the efforts of many committees and, especially, the dedication of trustees Lori Forden, Mira Larson, and Katie Couch. I’d love to hear your feedback on the redesign—send me an email! The new site is designed to grow and evolve alongside our community.

The centerpiece of the redesign is the Dalcroze USA Resource Library. At launch, it already includes more than three hundred lesson plans, videos, articles, and journals—just a few clicks away. We believe it will become the world’s most trusted and comprehensive online collection of Dalcroze eurhythmics and music-and-movement materials. Members have full access to the library and are invited to contribute resources of their own. Have something special to share—a recording, article, or teaching idea? Let us know! For a short overview of what’s inside, see my online post, “The Dalcroze USA Resource Library is Live.”

Looking ahead, we’re delighted to announce that our next national conference will take place at Five Towns College in Dix Hills, NY, June 12–14, 2026. Board member and Five Towns faculty member Meagan Dissinger reports great enthusiasm from the college leadership in welcoming the Dalcroze community. It’s also wonderful to bring the conference back to the East Coast for our members in the region.

I hope you’ll join me in celebrating all things Dalcroze this year. Through these new initiatives, we have the opportunity to reach and inspire more people than ever before. Please share these resources with friends and colleagues—and start making plans to join us at next year’s national conference.
