Lower Pitch Sets In Major — The Pure Rhythmic Modes
Publisher Description
Textbooks on the Jaques-Dalcroze approach are unique in that they document an author’s personal experiences and understanding at a given time. As an experienced practitioner and teacher of this approach, the author has been part of a privileged group, gaining insights not readily available to others. This approach is not a written method but an education involving skill development that can only be passed down from one generation to the next, one experience at a time.
The author has meticulously designed this text to provide an immersive experience in the approach to solfège. The main focus is training the body, ear, mind, and eye. A crucial principle of the Jaques-Dalcroze approach is that theory follows practice, and this text is a testament to that. It presents material reinforcing past experiences in eurhythmics, solfege, and improvisation classes. Its purpose is to provide resources for study and practice. However, more importantly, the author has designed this and the entire Solfège Series to be a journal, a record of a journey already traveled, inviting you, the reader, to be an active part of it.
The text features exercises by M. Jaques, the author, or his teachers. It is highly recommended that the reader progresses through the text chronologically. In this edition, the author has reorganized the material in a more logical sequence, providing a clear path for the user to navigate through the textbook step-by-step, ensuring a smooth and comprehensive learning experience.
