Board Chair’s Letter
Most of the work of the DSA happens in committees staffed with volunteers. It is my great pleasure to work with all these committees and their leaders. Thank you for the unique and valuable contributions of these volunteers; the DSA would not exist without you.
In this edition, I want to give special thanks to the publications committee led by Katie Couch. The publications committee works diligently with Executive Director Alex Marthaler, who is the graphic and layout designer for this beautiful publication. I personally can’t say enough about their efforts on Dalcroze Connections and their work on publishing the blog. The care with which they edit and the thoughtfulness with which they choose the articles and lesson plans for the blog posts and the magazines is exceptional.
Here’s the part where I ask you, dear reader, to help us to share the work of the publications committee with your colleagues and friends. Here are some ways to share:
- Is there a library or a lobby where readers might enjoy reading a copy of Dalcroze Connections? Email admin@dalcrozeusa.org to receive a hard copy to place in that area.
- Share the link for issues of Dalcroze Connections via email, text, or social media.
- Share blog posts on your social media.
I know that everyone asks for likes and shares in our digital world, but it truly does make a difference. Thank you.
On another note, I look forward to seeing many of you at our next conference at Oberlin College and Conservatory, June 6–8, 2024. A big shout-out to the national events committee that is co-chaired by Greg Ristow and Sarah Schreffler for their tireless work in organizing this event!
See you soon!
